Agni-6 : India's First MIRVs Capable Intercontinental Ballistic Missile.
Agni-6 is the greatest Missile to be developed by the India. It is being developed by DRDO (Defence Reasearch And Development Organization) and BHARAT DYNAMICS LIMITED.. Agni-6 is being designed to be a 4 stage missile which will be significantly boost it's range and it will be use Solid Propellent just like Agni-5.
Like Agni-5, Agni-6 will be about 17m long but it will be thicker with 2m diameter. Ring Laser Gyroscope will be used to provide guidance to the missile. This System is highly accurate with accuracy of 10-5 sq. m. From Agni-5,India has moved towards building seeker missile.
Agni-6 is lighter and slim than Agni-3 and Agni-6 is expected to maintain that design Doctrine. This Design Doctrine has an advantage- the missile is easily transportable and deployedable.
8x8 Tatra TEL ( Transporter Erector Launcher) and Rail Mobile Launcher. TEL is a Missile lauchner with an Integrated Prime mover that can carry, Elevate to firing position and launch one or more missile.
Agni-6 will carry a 3 tonnes of warhead instead of 1 tonne of warhead used so far. This will provide massive destruction power. Each Warhead- called Manuverable Re-entry Vehicle (MARV)- Perform evasive maneuvers while hurtling down towards his target, Confusing enemy Air Defense System that are firing to destroy them in Mid-air.Agni-6 is expected to feature Multiple In-dependent Re-entry Vehicle MIRVs. Each missile will be capable of carrying 10 separate nuclear warhead. Each warhead can be assigned to a different target. MIRVs ensures a credible second strike Capability even with a few missiles.
Agni-6 has a range of 8000-12000 km whereas Submarine Launched Versions has a Range of 8000+ km.
In January 2013, DRDO chief V K Saraswat said that after the development of Agni V, DRDO will develop Agni VI by 2026 however the number is unknown, which will have Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) capability.
